Diti, Mizu starrer last film to be released Nov 5

Late film actors Parveen Sultana Diti and Mizu Ahmed’s last film ‘E Desh Tomar Amar’ has finally got its release date. The film will be released on November 5 in theatres. Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association General Secretary and lead actor of the film Zayed Khan confirmed the news to the media on Sunday.

Directed by FI Manik, the film got the censor certificate from Bangladesh Film Development Board on September 16 this year.

Zayed said, “The film is memorable for me because two of my co-artistes Diti and Mizu Ahmed are no longer with us. I have lots of memory with them on the set. In ‘E Desh Tomar Amar’, I have many sequences with Diti apa and Mizu bhai. I really miss them.”

He said the film was shot in 35mm format which got digitised later.

Diti began her journey in the film industry with the talent hunt competition ‘Notun Mukher Sondhane’ in 1984. Her debut film was ‘Dak Diye Jai,’ directed by Udayan Chowdhury, which was never released. ‘Ami-i Ostad’ was her first film to get released. Diti got National Film Award for Subhash Dutt’s film ‘Swami Smriti’ in 1987. The celebrated actress died on March 20 in 2016, after a long battle with brain cancer.

Mizu Ahmed, known for his negative role in the Bengali film industry, died on March 27, 2017.

In 1978, he made his film debut with ‘Trishna’. A couple of years later, Mizu established himself as a villain in Dhallywood. He won National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film Traash (1992). He was also a film producer.
