Bangladesh’s premier archer Ruman Shana finished 46th among the 102 participants after scoring 636 in the qualification round of the men’s recurve section in the World Archery Championship in Youngstown, USA on Wednesday. Another two archers of Bangladesh -- Ram Krishno Saha and Hakim Ahmed Rubel -- finished 27th and 50th after scoring 642 and 633 respectively in the men’s recurve section.

In the recurve men’s team event, the Bangladesh archery team comprising Ram Krishno Saha and Ruman Shana finished 12th among the 26 countries after scoring 1911. Bangladesh will face Belgium in the first round match. In the recurve women’s division, woman archer Beauty Roy finished 72nd among the 80 participants after scoring 551.

In the recurve mixed team event, Bangladesh archery team comprising Ram and Beauty failed to qualify in the main event after they finished 28th among the 32 countries after scoring 1193.

In the men’s compound division qualification round, archer Asim Kumar Das finished 58th position among the 88 participants after scoring 674.
