Exports in 38 categories to get cash incentive in FY22

Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Monday announced cash incentives on the export of products in 38 categories for the fiscal year 2021-22.

The foreign exchange policy department of BB has issued a circular along with a specified list of products and rate of incentive on their exports.

Papers and paper-related products manufactured in the country will get 10 per cent cash incentive on exports in FY 22. The rate of incentives will range between 2 per cent to 20 per cent depending on products.

The list also includes bicycle and its parts, tea, MS steel products, cement sheet, freelancer/ software/ IT services, apparel products, pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments and appliances, photovoltaic modules, motorcycles, chemical products, razors and razor blades, ceramic products, caps, crabs, mud eels and galvanised sheets or coils, intestines, horns and arteries (without bone), crust and finished leather goods, ship, plastic products, pet flex, frozen fish, shrimp, diversified jute products and active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), jute hessian, sacking and carpet backing cloth, leather goods, light engendering products, furniture, accumulator battery and shoes and bags, agricultural products, halal meat, potatoes and seeds.

The exporters will be able to apply for cash incentives within 360 days of repatriation of export income, the BB circular said.
