Afghanistan Under-19 squad will arrive in Dhaka on September 4 to play their scheduled bilateral series against Bangladesh counterparts, a Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Thursday.

“The ACB (Afghanistan Cricket Board) obtained the Pakistan visa for their Under-19 squad and they expected to arrive by Emirates from Pakistan on September 4 after reaching there by bus,” a BCB official confirmed The Daily Sun.

Earlier, Afghanistan tour of Bangladesh was rescheduled as the tourists were left waiting for the Pakistan visa before flying to Dhaka. The tourists are scheduled to play five youth one-dayers and a lone four-day match during the series in Sylhet.

The BCB is desperate to arrange international matches for their defending champion team as all their previous programmes for the next U-19 World Cup preparations were disrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

They started a residential camp in Sylhet on August 19 as part of the preparation for their Under-19 series against Afghanistan.
