In a press conference at DU Journalists’ Association (DUJA), Rakibul Islam Rakib, convener of JCD DU unit said, "We were going to TSC with a protest procession from Shaheed Minar. At that time, Chhatra League members attacked us with local weapons without any reason."

The injured were sent home after taking treatment from Dhaka Medical College and Hospital while critically injured Amanullah Aman, the member secretary of JCD DU unit was admitted to a hospital in the capital’s Dhanmondi area, he added.

In the press conference, JCD also condemned the attack and demanded exemplary punishment of the criminals.
