After Raajhorshee De’s film ‘Maya’, popular Bangladeshi actress and model Rafiath Rashid Mithila will be seen another Tollywood movie titled ‘A River in Heaven’. Noted Indian-Bengali filmmaker Riingo Banerjee has directed the film.
Produced by Flixbug, the upcoming film, delves into the age-old myth of water as a powerful agent of change and its repercussions on our lives. Riingo himself has written the story of the film.
Speaking to an Indian media on what made her come onboard, Mithila said that it was the ‘brilliant story and her role’ that drew her to the film. Her character is well-layered as a ‘simple woman’ who is pinned down by patriarchal society but learns to overstep that to find her own course in life, just like the river stream. She described the plot of the film as a non-linear narrative of ‘four different streams of life that flow towards one core ending’.
About the movie Riingo told the Times of India that the tale of the dynamics of human relationships is set against this backdrop. “It is an abiding tale of forgiveness and ultimate realisations,” explained the Messi director, adding that the film runs through the crests and troughs of the characters and unfolds against the backdrop of the ever-motile form and flow of Ganga.
Alongside Mithila, Chandreyee Ghosh, Amrita Chattopadhyay, Debshankar Halder, Sromona Chakraborty, Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee and Tannishtha Biswas have played key roles in the film.
‘A River in Heaven’ will be released this September, according to the sources.
