Bashundhara Kings head coach Oscar Bruzon on Saturday said that he was satisfied with his side’s performance against JSW Bengaluru Football Club in their second match of the AFC Cup 2021 but he was unhappy with the result of the game.
Kings failed to seize several scoring chances during the match and played a goalless draw against the Indian opponents during their second Group D match at National Stadium in Male.
“If we had a Robson goal or if we had scored a goal in the first half, the game could be completely different. Of course, we wanted to win but in the last 20 minutes, we realised that we had to keep the result 0-0, to keep a clean sheet.
“The positive thing is we kept clean sheets against two big teams in the competition. I think it is a good sign for our team,” he added.
Despite the draw, Kings moved to the top of the points table with four points from two matches and they will play another Indian side ATK Mohun Bagan FC in their last match on August 24.
Meanwhile, the draw all but confirmed Bengaluru FC knocking out from the competition, who earlier suffered 0-2 defeat against Mohun Bagan in their first game.
“We got close several chances in this game but failed to net. Of course, it is disappointing. We have to work hard, see and learn how we can improve in the next matches, but it is disappointing because we have really worked hard for this tournament,” Bengaluru captain Sunil Chhetri said after the match.
