Chief of Army Staff (CAS) General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed on Tuesday inspected the patrol activities conducted by the Army under operation Covid Shield (Part-II) in Tangail.

During the visit, he exchanged views with the on-duty army personnel as well as with members of the local administration and other law enforcement agencies.

Chief of Army Staff expressed satisfaction over the role and activities of the army, local administration and law enforcement agencies in Tangail in tackling Covid-19.

Apart from patrolling, the Chief of Army Staff also visited the Army Training and Doctrine Command at its headquarters in Mymensingh and the 19th Infantry Division at Ghatail in Tangail.

Mentionable that army has been deployed across the country from July 1 to assist the civil administration and law enforcement agencies in preventing the transmission of Covid-19.

In addition to conducting patrols, Bangladesh Army is distributing food items from its own funds to families affected by the corona epidemic and providing medical treatment by setting up temporary medical camps in different areas.

During the visit, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 19th Infantry Division and Area Commander Ghatail area Maj Gen Syed Tareq Hossain along with other officers of the Army Headquarters were present.
