Journo Abul Mansur dies of corona

Freedom fighter Abul Mansur Chowdhury, also joint news editor of the Daily Observer, passed away on early Monday while receiving treatment for Covid-19 at a city hospital. He was 66.

He breathed his last at 1:20am in Ibn Sina Hospital. Chowdhury was tested positive for coronavirus on July 18. Later his condition was deteriorated and he was on life support since July 26.

In his career as a journalist, he worked over 25 years in the Daily Star, the New Nation and the Daily Observer. Abul Mansur Chowdhury was the younger brother of late Fakir Abul Kashem Chowdhury, former president of Parshuram Upazila Awami League in Feni.

He left behind his wife, three daughters, and a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.

Abul Mansur Chowdhury was buried with state honour at his family graveyard in Feni’s Parshuram on Monday following his namaz-e-janaza after Asr prayer.
