The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has suspended an executive engineer on charges of completing full payments to a contractor before completion of a development project.

A divisional case was also filed against executive engineer (civil) Tanvir Ahmed, also director of the development of road and drainage infrastructure at Nasirabad, Dakhingaon, Demra and Manda, says an office order.

The action was taken under the section 4 (a), (b), (d) and (e) of Dhaka South City Corporation Chakri Bidhimala, 2019 after it came to light through a media report.

The report said that the project director made full payment Tk nine crore to  MS Bhuiyan and Company Ltd before the completion of construction of a bridge over  Deb-Dholai Khal and its approach roads  under  the project at ward  no 75 in Khilgaon.
