Television channel NEWS24 has stepped into the sixth year of operation with a fresh vow to continue success tales overcoming challenges amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The news-based satellite channel celebrated the anniversary on a limited scale considering the present situation.

NEWS24 began its operations on July 27, 2016 as an electronic broadcasting media under East West Media Group Limited owned by Bashundhara Group.

The authorities of the TV channel celebrated the fifth founding anniversary by cutting a cake on its office premises at Bashundhara Residential Area in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milan, Daily Sun Editor Enamul Hoque Chowdhury, Banglanews24 Editor Jewel Mazhar, NEWS24 Head of News Rahul Raha, Chief News Editor Shahnaz Munni and journalists as well as employees of the TV channel took part at the cake-cutting ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milan said, “I have been associated with NEWS24 TV channel since its inception. I am proud of it. One of the unique features of Bashundhara Group is that it succeeds in every venture and NEWS24 is not an exception.”

In his speech, Daily Sun Editor Enamul Hoque Chowdhury said, “I always watch my favourite news-based TV channel NEWS24. I see it after getting up from bed and before going to sleep. The gradual improvement of the channel is evident to me.

“The channel shows utmost professionalism in every national crisis, natural calamities and critical situation. In the midst of Covid-19 pandemic, the journalists of the channel collect news from all parts of the country.”

Stressing positive stories of Bangladesh, NEWS24 has been practising objective journalism since its beginning through collective teamwork of young and experienced professionals.

NEWS24 official channel on YouTube achieved silver button attaining 260.7 million views through offering live streaming and programme-based digital contents on its verified page.
