Domestic cricket season to kick off with NCL T20

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that the 2025-26 domestic cricket season will commence with the National Cricket League Twenty20, scheduled for September.

BCB director Akram Khan shared the update with reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday.

“Initially, we planned to begin the season with the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), but later decided to host the NCL T20 first, considering the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) players’ draft. We want to provide the players with this platform ahead of the draft, which is why today’s meeting involved extensive discussion. So, the season will kick off with the NCL T20, followed by the BPL, then the NCL, and finally the BCL,” Akram said.

In the last edition of the tournament held in 2024, Rangpur Division clinched the title by defeating Dhaka Metropolis in the final.
