PM unveils book ‘Sajeeb Wazed Joy: A Spirited Graceful Journey’

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday unveiled the cover of a commemorative book, marking the 50th birth anniversary of her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, also a grandson of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, also an ICT affairs adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is an artisan of the development of information technology in the country.

The prime minister unwrapped the 160-page book titled ‘Sajeeb Wazed Joy: A Spirited Graceful Journey’ at a simple ceremony at her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital. The Bangla version of the book is named ‘Sajeeb Wazed Joy: Tarunnyadipto Gorbito Pothchola’.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak is the advisory editor of the book.

The book is edited by Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, chairman of Padma Bank Ltd and chairman of the Board of Trustees of Canadian University of Bangladesh.

Joyeeta Prokashoni published the book by Yasin Kabir Joy. The book is also being read in e-book format (

The book contains a number of articles, newsletters and rare photographs on the colourful life of Sajeeb Wazed Joy. The book is dedicated to the young generation of Bangladesh.

Sajeeb Wazed Joy was the dreamer of the dream of building a Digital Bangladesh in the 2008 national election manifesto of Awami League.

After the landslide victory of the Awami League in the election, he has been made ICT Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister. He is also one of the artisans of the development of information technology in the country.

Due to his leadership and influence, Joy was elected ‘Global Leader of the World’ at the World Economic Forum in 2007.

Shahriar Khan Barna has designed the cover of the book titled ‘Sajeeb Wazed Joy: A Spirited Graceful Journey’. The price of the book is Tk 3,000.
