Mobile financial service bKash has delinked the payment gateway with 10 ecommerce platforms, including Evaly, Aleshamart and Dhamakashopping, amidst growing unrest over financial anomalies.
“We are working closely to implement regulatory guidelines on payment system for e-commerce. In the meantime, to protect customers’ interest, payment gateway service of bKash has been temporarily suspended for few merchants,” Shamusddin Haider Dalim, head of corporate communications at bKash, told the Daily Sun.
Besides, the state-run MFS provider Nagad is waiting for Bangladesh Bank’s nod to decide on payment gateways with the controversial ecommerce platforms.
“We are following the compliance with Bangladesh Bank. Nagad is waiting for central bank directives in this regard,” Mohammad Zahidul Islam, head of public relations at Nagad, told the Daily Sun over a query in this regard.
Earlier, couple of banks, including Brac Bank, Bank Asia, Dhaka Bank and UCB, have withdrawn the transaction gateways with the controversial platforms. Since then, the companies have been running transactions through mobile banking only.
