The counting of the holy month of Jilqad in the year 1442 AH has started from June 13. It is also the second month of the three months of Hajj. This month is one of the four months that are forbidden in Islam. This month is very important in the history of Islam for various reasons. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed all the umrahs in his life in this month. The month of Jilqad is very significant. The real name of the month of Jilqad is Zul-Al-Qaeda. And it means sitting or standing and resting.

From the month of Rajab to the month of Shawwal, the believing Muslims spend four months in continuous worship. Preparatory rest of worship: The real Arabic name of the month of Zilqad is ‘Zulkaadah’. ‘Zilkaada’ in Persian; ‘Zilkaad’ in Urdu; In Bengali it has taken the form of ‘Jilkkad’ ‘Zulqaadah’ or ‘Zilqqad’ means to sit or stay, to rest. The four months before the month of Zilqad (Rajab, Sha’ban, Ramadan, Shawwal) are the busiest months in a series of scheduled acts of worship. For example: Rajab is the month of Allah, the month of cultivating the land of worship, the month of more and more supererogatory worship. Sha’ban is the month of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the month of sowing the seeds of worship; Nisaf Shaban or Shabe Barat and the most supererogatory month of fasting and supererogatory worship. Ramadan is the month of the Ummah, the month of harvest, the obligatory fast, the Tarabi prayers, Qiyamullah; The month of the revelation of the Qur’an and the month of engaging in worship.

The month of Shawwal is the month of Eid-ul-Fitr, Sadaqatul-Fitr and the prescribed six months of Sunnah. Similarly, the next two months of the month of Jilqqad are the month of Jilhaj and the month of Muharram. Such as: Jilhaj month Hajj, Eid-ul-Azha and the month of sacrifice; Muharram is the month of Ashura. That is to say, just as the first four months of the month of Zilqad are to be engaged in worship. So, the next two months of the month of Zilqad are to be engaged in worship. The month of Zilqqad is in the middle, since the believer has a little rest, is called Zulqaadah (Zilqqad) or the month of rest.
