Bangladesh Cricket Board on Saturday said that they are investigating Mohammedan Sporting Club for a potential breach of the Bio-Security Environment in place for Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 League.
The incident took place on Friday when MSC skipper Shakib Al Hasan brought in two additional net bowlers from his own cricket academy during his individual training session at the BCB indoor.
Alongside the two net bowlers, there was a teenage boy in the practice session who later revealed him to be a fan of Shakib.
“BCB and CCDM have taken the matter very seriously and an investigation has been initiated,” BCB said in a media release.
BCB earlier decided to enforce heavy punishment like a fine, ban or point deduction on Dhaka Premier League teams if they breach bio-bubble protocols during the tournament.
“We are disappointed to note this incident. Both CCDM and BCB have taken this very seriously. The health and safety of our teams, players and officials are most important to us. We have invested a significant amount of finances and efforts to make sure the BSE protocols are in place including the best possible accommodation and logistics,” CCDM Chairman Kazi Inam Ahmed said.
“This incident is being looked into and necessary actions and further precautionary measures will be taken,” he added.
