Niaz draws on second day

Bangladesh grandmaster Niaz Murshed shared points with Iranian grandmaster GM Amin Tabatabaei on the second day of the ongoing Asian Continental Individual Hybrid Chess Championship 2021, a qualifier for FIDE World Cup Chess 2021, scheduled to be held on July 10 in Sochi, Russia.

The second round matches were held on Saturday at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on the 2nd floor of the National Sports Council. Earlier on Friday, Niaz started the first day with a win.

Another Bangladesh GM Enamul Hossain Razib conceded a defeat to China GM Xu Yinglun. Both Niaz and Razib made a winning start beating Al Ibrahim Abdulrahman of Kuwait and Tenuunbold Battulga of Mongolia on the first day respectively.

Among other Bangladeshi players, international master Abu Sufyan Shakil beat Bayasgalan Khisingbatar of Mongolia while FIDE Master Subrata Biswas and IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman conceded defeats to Indonesia GM Priyasmoro Navendra and Bocojo Mark Jay of the Philippines in the day’s other matches.

Earlier, FM Subrata played a draw with Mongolian GM Batchuluun Tsegmed while IM Shakil and IM Fahad conceded a defeat to Uzbekistan GM Vokhidov Shamsiddin and China GM Lu Shanglei in their respective matches on an opening day.
