Kings face Baridhara today in BPL 2nd phase opener

Table-toppers Bashundhara Kings will take on Uttar Baridhara Club in the opening match of the second phase of Bangladesh Premier League today at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital.

The match is scheduled to start at 04:00pm and will be telecast live on T Sports Digital (Youtube and Facebook).

Kings remained undefeated in the first leg and they are on top in the points table with 34 points from 12 matches with 11 wins and one draw and also eight points ahead of second-placed Sheikh Jamal DC.

Uttar Baridhara are on the other hand placed 10th in the 13-team points table with nine points from 12 matches.

In the day's other two matches, Abahani Limited will play against Police Football Club at 07:00pm before Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra taking on Brothers Union in the third game at 09:00pm at the same venue.

BNS is going to host three matches on each match day until the countrywide lockdown for the Covid-19 pandemic ends on May 5, according to the new fixture of BPL announced by Bangladesh Football Federation on Thursday.

The league will continue until Eid-ul-Fitr vacation and it will only resume again after a 45-day long break on June 23 as the national team will compete in FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 joint qualifiers in the meantime.
