Eid congregation in mosques only

The government has directed the local administrations to ensure arrangement for Eid congregation inside the mosque instead of offering prayers at open space amid corona virus pandemic.

In an emergency notification on Monday, Ministry of Religion Affairs mentioned that the mosques authorities can arrange the prayer in multiple phases maintaining

social distance and other health guidelines.

All participants in the congregation are also asked to avoid hugging each other fearing contact of the virus

In association with local administrations and law enforcement agencies, officials of Islamic Foundation will ensure the implementation of the directives.

“Rolling out the carpets inside the mosque is not allowed. The devotees can bring the prayer mat individually. The mosque authorities will clean the whole premises with disinfectant,” read the directive.

The congregation management is also asked to keep the necessary medicine, soap and hand sanitisers for safety measures of the devotees before enter to the mosque.

“All devotees have to wear mask and prayer cap of his own. All should avoid the use of cap reserved inside the mosque. Officials of health services, law enforcement agencies will remain on duty to ensure safer congregation for all,” added the letter.
