Leningrad assures Dhaka of more intensive trade

Governor of the Leningrad Region of Russia Drozdenko Alexander Yurievich has assured Dhaka of more intensive trade and engagement in investment.  

He also laid emphasis on collective engagement in mutually beneficial programmes on wide range of areas.  

Yurievich, who is also the chairman of the Government of the Leningrad, gave the assurance during a meeting with Bangladesh Ambassador to Russia Kamrul Ahsan in Saint Petersburg on Tuesday.  

They discussed the importance of advancing socio-economic and cultural relations between Bangladesh and the Leningrad Regions of the Russian Federation, Kamrul Ahsan told the Daily Sun on Friday.

The governor and the Bangladesh envoy also discussed other shared priorities and emphasised the importance of future collective engagement in mutually beneficial projects, especially cooperation in higher education, tourism development, cultural and business expansion.

Bangladesh ambassador’s conversations focused on how the entrepreneurs of both Bangladesh and the Russian Federation can work more closely to advance bilateral trade and investment in a mutually beneficial manner.

While meeting with the governor, Kamrul Ahsan highlighted the historic value and architectural wonders of St Petersburg, and its similarities with Chattogram, and proposed to form sister-city alliances with Chattogram.
