President, PM condole death

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday condoled the death of Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II’s husband.

Prince Philip, a leading figure in the British royal family for almost seven decades, died at the age of 99.

In separate messages, the President and the premier mourned the death and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

In her condolence message, the Prime Minister expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The premier prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved royal family.

According to the statement from Buckingham Palace, it said, “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty the Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.”

“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle,” it said.

Prince Philip and the Queen had four children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
