DSCC conducts drive to close shops by 8:00pm

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Thursday conducted a campaign in its different market areas aimed at closing shops and markets by 8 pm from Friday to contain the spread of Covid-19.

DSCC executive magistrates Md Muniruzzaman and AH Erfanuddin Ahmed led the campaign in Pir Yemeni Market, Khaddar Bazar Shopping Complex, Gulistan Footpath Market, Gulistan Trade Center and Dhaka Trade Center, Nilkhet Book Market, Chandni Chowk Market and New Market areas.

DSCC officials campaigned with loudspeakers. They said the shops and other establishments must be closed otherwise legal actions would be taken against the rules violators.

Talking to the daily sun, DSCC executive magistrate said, “We will conduct the campaign for 6-7 days in the market areas under our jurisdiction. If the businesses continue to disobey our order, we will go to legal action.”
