Women’s team finish 8th

Bangladesh women’s rifle team, comprising Sayeda Atkia Hasan Disha, Farbin Chowdhury Rithika and Sharmin Akter Ratna ended 8th in the final round of 10m air rifle women’s team’s event on the third day of the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup as apart from their women’s team’s qualification in the final, in New Delhi, India on Sunday.

The team scored a total of 604.8. The United States scored 627.3 to clinch gold, Denmark scored 625.9 to clinch silver and Poland scored 624.1 to earn bronze in the event.

Bangladesh were also eliminated from the day’s 10m air rifle mixed team (stage 1) event. Two pairs took part in the event -- the pair of Abdullah Hel Baki and Disha ended 16th with a total of 621.0 and the pair of Md Rabbi Hasan Munna and Ratna ended 20th with a total of 610.2.

However, shooters will compete in the 10m air pistol mixed teams (stage 1) today. The pair Shooters Shakil Ahmed and Armin Asha will represent Bangladesh there.
