The government on Tuesday asked British Council not to administer Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations under Cambridge -- scheduled to start in April this year -- considering the current Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country.

The education ministry issued a notice signed by its deputy secretary Anwarul Haque to the country director of British Council Bangladesh in this regard.

The ministry in the notice asked the British Council not to hold the exams to ensure safety of the teachers and students.
