Different orgs observe the day

Different socio-cultural organisations, professional bodies and educational institutions have observed the historic March 7 on Sunday with due solemnity and fervour.

The Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) arranged a discussion to mark the ‘Historic 7th March’.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque attended the discussion as the chief guest while M Ali Nur, secretary (health and family welfare) of the Ministry of Health, attended it as the special guest, says a press release.

 The Ministry of Defence arranged a day-long programme to observe the ‘Historic March 7’.

A discussion meeting titled ‘Historic March 7’ was held at the conference room of the ministry.

Md Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, senior secretary of Defence Ministry, was present at the event as the chief guest while additional secretary Md Abu Baker Siddique presided over it.

To mark the day, a virtual discussion titled ‘Historic 7th March’ was held at North South University (NSU).

MA Kashem, chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of NSU, attended the event as the chief guest while Azim Uddin Ahmed, member of the Board of Trustees of NSU, attended it as the special guest, says a press release.             

Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) observed the ‘Historic 7th March’ by the initiative of Cultural Forum run by the Department of Sociology maintaining social distancing at Bijoy Auditorium.

Associate Prof Josinta Zinia, chairman of the Department of Sociology, presented the keynote speech at the event.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University observed the ‘Historic 7th March’ on its campus, maintaining proper social distancing.

Vice Chancellor of the university Rear Admiral (retd) M Khaled Iqbal was present at the event as the chief guest while Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mijanur Rahman attended it as the guest speaker.

Primeasia University arranged a virtual discussion at IQAC Conference Hall on the university campus to mark the ‘The Historic 7th March’.

Md Nazrul Islam, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Primeasia University joined on the program as the chief guest.
