Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited shared points with the lower-ranked Rahamatgonj Muslim Friends Society after they played a 1-1 draw in a Bangladesh Premier League match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.

After a barren first half, Sheikh Jamal took the lead after their Uzbek midfielder Vali Jonov Otabek scored directly from a corner in the 49th minute. Ivorian forward Lorougnon Crist Remi took just two minutes to equalise for Rahamatgonj off a pass from midfielder Shahedul Alam in the 51st minute.

In the day’s other match, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited beat Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 2-0 at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla.  Malian forward Souleymane Diabate and Burkina Faso defender Mounzir Coulidiati scored one each for the winners in the 35th and 61st minutes respectively.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Football Federation on Monday fined MSC and Chittagong Abahoni Limited Tk 50,000 and 25,000 respectively for their officials’ using slang words during a BPL match.

MSC team leader Abu Hasan Chowdhury Prince and Ctg Abahoni manager Arman Azin were suspended for three and one match respectively for the same incident.
