Brothers Union Limited tasted their first win in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League beating Arambagh Krira Sangha by 5-2 goals at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
Midfielder Faisal Mahmood netted a brace while Nigerian forward Samson Iliasu, Congolese forward Siyo Zunapio Jeancy and substitute midfielder Mezbah Uddin netted one each for the winning side.Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Moro earlier opened the account for Arambagh KS converting the spot-kick in the 10th minute while forward Nihat Zaman Ucchash’s goal only reduced the gap.
Both teams are likely to face punishment as they came to the venue with one set of the jersey. According to BPL bylaws, the participating teams have to come to the venue with at least two sets of jerseys on match day.
In the day’s other match, Saif Sporting Club crushed Bangladesh Police Football Club 4-1 at the same venue.
Nigerian midfielder John Okoli netted a brace while his compatriot forward Kenneth Ikechukwu Ngwoke and midfielder Sazzad Hossain added one each. Forward Jamir Uddin scored the lone goal for Police FC.
In the next matches on Tuesday, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited will play against Rahamatgonj Muslim Friends Society at the BNS while Mohammedan will lock horns against Muktijoddha in Cumilla.
