Int’l confce on waste management begins

A two-day international conference on waste management in developing countries titled ‘Wastesafe-2021’ began on Saturday. 

Due to the Covid-19, the conference is being held virtually this year with University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh Member Professor Dr Muhammed Alamgir in the chair, said a press release.

Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque joined the inaugural ceremony of the conference as the chief guest.

Among others, WaterAid Regional Director (South Asia) Dr Md Khairul Islam and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Vice-Chancellor Professor Quazi Sazzad Hossain addressed the event.

Around 70 scientists, engineers, educationists, teachers and students from five countries are participating in the conference.
