Monowara Sikder made NBL Chairperson

The board of directors of National Bank Limited has elected Monowara Sikder as chairperson of the bank for three years.

The post of the National Bank chair fell vacant after Zainul Haque Sikder, a valiant freedom fighter and one of the pioneer industrialists of Bangladesh, had passed away on February 10 while taking treatment in Dubai.

Monowara Sikder, wife of Zainul Haque Sikder, was unanimously elected the Chairperson of the National Bank Limited for three years at the 443rd board meeting on Wednesday.

Director Ron Haque Sikder informed the board of the desire of deceased Zainul Haque Sikder to elect Monowara Sikder as the Chairperson. Independent  Director Naimuzzaman Bhuiyan Mukta proposed the name of Monowara Sikder as the Chairperson.  Other directors Parveen Haque Sikder MP, Rick Haque Sikder, Moazzam Hossain, Khalilur Rahman, Zakaria Taher, Mabroor Hossain seconded the proposal.

They recalled the contribution of Zainul Haque Sikder and expressed their firm determination to extend all cooperation to the newly-elected Chairperson.

Monowara Sikder thanked all and urged them to work together to fulfill the dream of the late Chairman, Zainul Haque Sikder and declared the end of the meeting.
