Shaheed Minar vandalised in Magura

Miscreants vandalised a Shaheed Minar at Bajruk Srikundi College premies in Magura Sadar upazila on Saturday night.

 “Miscreants caused the damage to the Shaheed Minar at night. The matter is being investigated and action will be taken,” Joynal Abedin, officer-in-charge of Magura Sadar Police Station, said.

The Shaheed Minar was established in 2002 in front of the college.

“We found the Shaheed Minar vandalized when we came to pay tributes at 9:00 am on Sunday. Three pillars of the Shaheed Minar have been demolished,” said Professor Pallab Kumar Dey of the college.

Police temporarily re-setup the Shaheed Minar to allow people pay respect to the martyrs of the 1952 Language Movement.
