The 19th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh has been rescheduled for November 1 to December 31 due to coronavirus pandemic. The two-month-long exhibition will be held at National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Asian Art Biennale Cell of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s Fine Arts department has announced the new schedule through a notice on their website recently.Earlier, the exhibition was scheduled to be held from March 1 to 31.
The exhibition will display two and three-dimensional artworks comprising painting, prints, photography, sculpture, video and mixed media installation, new media and performance art.
Artists above 22 years with experience of participating in two national or international level exhibitions will be able to register for the event June 30.
Artists may apply through email with soft copies of documents or directly with hard copies delivered through courier or in-person to the organisers’ office at BSA.
All the applications will be evaluated by the selection committee. The selection result will be published on July 15, 2021.
All the selected artworks will have to be submitted to the Asian Art Biennale Cell, fine arts department of BSA from July 20 to August 20 — which is also the deadline for the participating artists and art curators from abroad to submit their application for VISA on arrival.Details of the exhibition are available at asianartbiennale.org.bd
To note: The two-month-long exhibition will also mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.
