The government is going to introduce online platform for mass registration on Monday ahead of national inoculation programme to tackle coronavirus disease in the country.
The ICT Division is scheduled to hand over the digital system, including web and mobile apps, to the Ministry of Health after the completion of the ongoing trial, sources at the division said.The country is now ready to start national immunisation programme for tackling coronavirus disease as Bangladesh on January 21 received the first ever consignment of around 2 million vaccine doses from India as gift.
People can register with the vaccination platform at the address of surokkha.gov.bd or using mobile app from the selected link in the page. The platform will act as national window of vaccination programme for Covid-19.
Talking to the Daily Sun, ICT Division Senior Secretary NM Zeaul Alam said the platform is now going through several trials and the system will be handed over to the Health Ministry on Monday.
“We are waiting for the final approval from the Prime Minister’s Office. The programmers have been working relentlessly for completing the trials before its handing over,” he said.
According to the official, all data inputted in the platform will be encrypted as system is hosted at state-run National Data Centre. System developers of ICT Division and Management Information System (MIS) department at Directorate General of Health Services will manage the services.
Software Assurance Lab conducts troubleshooting of the newly introduced digital platform developed by in-house programmers of ICT Division.To register with the platform, first click on the ‘Vaccine Registration’ area and select the identity of the individuals from classification. Then, the platform asks for putting number of national identity card and date or birth with a captcha verification.
Then, the users have to provide selected information in next phase. After completion of the registration, individuals can check the status of the vaccination using one time password at the ‘Status Check’ tab in the portal.
Alike this step, the platform will also provide vaccine card and certification to the individuals who will complete the immunisation programme.
After registration, one will receive a message on his/her mobile phone along with the date of vaccination and the name of the vaccination centre.
Showing the message, the individuals will receive the vaccine at the respective vaccination centre on the mentioned date.
