Two Ansar security guards were injured while thwarting a robbery attempt at a branch of Rupali Bank in Gabtali of Bogura district early Tuesday.

The injured are Masud Rana, 28, and Habibur Rahman, 25, who are now undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Sabina Yasmin, assistant superintendent (Gabtali circle) of Bogura police, said that two robbers wearing PPE and face masks entered the bank after breaking the rooftop door of the bank in Sabekpara.

According to the officer, sensing their presence, Habibur and Masud caught one of the robbers.

At one stage, a robber threw acid at Habibur and another stabbed Masud, leaving them injured.

When the two security members started shouting, the robbers fled the scene, said the official. Then, local people came forward and rushed them to the hospital.
