The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday arrested businessman Shankha Bepari, a close aide to former NRB Global Bank managing director PK Halder in connection with a money laundering case.

The anti-graft agency’s Deputy Director Md Salahuddin arrested him after two hours of interrogation at the ACC’s headquarters in the capital, said ACC Director (media) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.

Hours after his arrest, ACC took him before a court seeking a three-day remand for interrogation. Accepting the plea, Dhaka Senior Special Judge KM Emrul Kayesh put him on a three-day remand.

ACC Secretary Anwar Hossain Hawlader told journalists that the investigation has revealed that Shankha Bepari is an associate of PK Halder.
