Victory Day of Democracy observed

The ruling Awami League on Wednesday observed ‘Victory Day of Democracy’ throughout the country by holding elaborate programmes.

On this day in 2018, Awami League won the 11th national election by a landslide. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina secured a third successive term in office with her ruling Awami League and its grand alliance partners.

In line with the central Awami League, all units across the country also organised similar programmes including discussion highlighting the necessity of the last general elections for the country’s democracy.

As part of the central AL programmes, the ruling party held two separate discussions on the day.

AL Dhaka north city unit held a discussion at Krishibid Institution with party general secretary Obaidul Quader as the chief guest. AL presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim and organizing secretaries Ahmad Hossain and Mirza Azam, among others, addressed the event.

Besides, AL Dhaka south city chapter arranged another discussion at the party’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue with presidium member Matia Chowdhury as the chief guest.

Presidium member Abdur Rahman, joint general secretaries Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and Dipu Moni and Hasan Mahmud, among others, also spoke.
