No open air celebrations

Surrounding the coming Christmas Day and the New Year, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will step up security measures with deployment of a large number of law enforcers in the capital.    

It has taken such decision to curb the spread of coronavirus, said DMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam in a meeting on law and order at his office on Monday.

The DMP chief said security measures will be stepped up in each churches on the occasion of the Charismas Day, the religious festival of the christen community.  

Alongside, extra security measures will be taken in all Christian community-dominated areas, he said.  

No open air celebration programme or DJ party is allowed on the 31st night and the New Year. No room or space in any hotel or restaurants is permitted for rental in the name of any DJ party, said the DMP boss.
