Govt asks educational institutions

The government on Monday instructed secondary and higher secondary educational institutions to keep in touch with students and their parents online to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic amid the winter season.

The Directorate of the Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) sent the copies of a letter to the directors and deputy directors of all regional’s offices of DSHE, principals of government and private colleges, headmasters of government and private schools and district and upazila education officers asking the educational institutions to abide by a six-point instruction.

The DSHE gave order to carry out publicity activities in all educational institutions following health guidelines to increase public awareness about Covid-19 pandemic. It also directed everyone to use masks and stick to social distancing norms at workplaces.

Educational institutions should be kept neat and clean at all times, it said, adding that service seekers should receive service online.

All educational institutions throughout the country have been closed since March 17 due to the pandemic.
