Gemcon Khulna’s opener Imrul Kayes returns back to the bio-bubble environment and joins his teammates following isolation after going out for a family crisis.
The Covid-19 protocols for the players taking part in the ongoing Bangabandhu T20 Cup are quite similar to the way other countries are completing their bio-bubble.There are two floors in the hotel dedicated to cricketers with no one else allowed to enter those areas.
There is a dedicated space for dining and protocols are scrupulously maintained with those involved in serving food regularly tested for coronavirus. However, players are usually not allowed to go out of the hotel but there is a provision that if there is an emergency player can go out and can join the team following isolation and clearance of corona test. Imrul went back to his family after batting against Gazi Group Chattogram on December 8 for an emergency issue and was allowed to join the team after getting clearance from the medical team following the Covid-19 protocol.
“I had a family emergency for which I had to go out of the bio-bubble. I had to return back to the team following the Covid-19 protocol that we have. I was in isolation for which I could not play my last game,” Imrul, who is expected to feature in the qualifier, told reporters on Sunday.
