Imrul Hassan, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) first vice-president, was made the chairman of the BFF finance committee on Saturday.
The decision was taken in an emergency virtual meeting of the BFF executive committee, chaired by its president Kazi Salahuddin.
The finance committee was previously headed by BFF senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy who stepped down from all posts within the federation on 8 August.
Murshedy resigned as the chairman of BFF’s finance committee and referees’ committee, due to “personal issues” three days after the ouster of the past government and two days after a local football fan base launched a campaign demanding the resignation of Salahuddin, Murshedy, and BFF executive member Mahfuza Akter Kiron.
Meanwhile, Imrul, who is also the president of the country’s top-tier outfit Bashundhara Kings, is currently playing the role of the chairman of the Professional League Management Committee (PLMC).
