Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) on Wednesday brought back 19 fishermen, who went missing in the Bay of Bengal on mid-November.

Lt Commander M Hamidul Islam, media officer at the Bangladesh Coast Guard headquarters, said a fishing trawler named FV Rana left Chattogram with 19 fishermen for deep sea on November 15.

On November 23, the engine of the trawler stopped working due to the technical glitch and reached the Indian waters.

On December 8, the Indian Coast Guard salvaged the trawler with 19 fishermen. On December 9 at 6:00 am, they handed them over to Bangladesh Coast Guard Ship Sonar Bangla.

Later, the Coast Guard Ship Sonar Bangla returned to BCG Base Mongla under Coast Guard West Zone and handed over the fishermen and fishing trawlers to the owner of the trawler.
