Newly appointed Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of Armed Forces Division Waker-Uz-Zaman took charges of Armed Forces Division (AFD) on Monday.
His predecessor Lieutenant General Md Mahfuzur Rahman retired on 29 November 2020.In the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the newly appointed PSO was adorned with the rank badge of Lieutenant General by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat.
On behalf of Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed, Army Quarter Master General (QMG) Lieutenant General Md Shamsul Haque was present.
Besides, PM’s Security Adviser Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, Prime Minister’s Military Secretary Major General Naqib Ahmad Chowdhury and Director General of Special Security Force (SSF) Major General Md Majibur Rahman were present.
Lieutenant General Waker-Uz-Zaman paid a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid. He sought the advice and guidance of the President and the Prime Minister in discharging his duties.
Prior to joining Armed Forces Division as Principal Staff Officer, Lieutenant General Waker-Uz-Zaman served as the Military Secretary (Army) at Army Headquarters.
