Sampadak Parishad (Edi-tors' Council), a platform of editors of newspapers, has discussed the latest situation of the country’s newspaper industry in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and how to overcome this situation.
Presided over by Sampadak Parishad Presi-dent Mahfuz Anam, the editors discussed various issues at the virtual meetings held on November 26 and 21, said a press release.During the meetings, the parishad members discussed the drastic fall in newspaper circulation, advertisement and the uncertain future of newspaper industry in the country. They also talked about the way out from the situation caused by the corona pandemic.
Besides this, they also spoke about the cases filed against journalists under the Digital Security Act, and harassment to editors and senior journalists.
The parishad members expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Daily Sangbad Acting Editor Khandaker Muniruzzaman, a founder member of the council.
