Dr Krishna Pada Halder and Dr Md Abu Bakr Siddidique were promoted to Director (Administration and Common Service) and Director (Research) of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI).
Before their new assignment, Dr Krishna Pada Halder was Director (Administration and Common Service) and Dr Md Abu Bakr Siddidique was Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the Agricultural Economics Division of the institution, said a press release on Sunday.Dr Halder and Dr Siddidique served the institute as the Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the Farm Management Division, and Coordinator for Advanced Studies and Research.
After completing MSc degree in 1987 from the Bangladesh Agricultural University, Dr Halder began his career as a Scientific Officer of the Institute in 1987 and devotedly performing his duties at different positions over the last 33 years. After obtaining MSc degree in 2000 from the Bangladesh Agricultural University, Dr Siddidique started his career as a Scientific Officer of the institute in 1994 and devotedly performing his duties at different positions over the last 26 years. Dr Halder is directly involved in developing and field level trials of several stress tolerant high yielding rice varieties adaptable to the unfavourable conditions of the country.
Dr Siddique is directly involved in feedback and impact assessment of different rice varieties and production technologies as well as policy research and providing policy support to the government.
