BPC gets new chairman

Chattogram: The government has appointed Md Abu Bakar Siddique as the chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) recently.

The newly appointed chairman took office on Tuesday.

He was serving as the Additional Secretary (Political and ICT) of Public Security division under Home Ministry before joining the BPC.

 Abu Bakar, an officer of BCS 9th batch, served at different posts of Public Administration, Health and Family Planning, Primary and Mass Education, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, LGRD, Housing and Public Works, and home ministry during his career.

Born in Laksam Upazila under Cumilla district, the officer obtained his post-graduation degree from Mymensingh Agriculture University.

The new chairman sought cooperation from all to strengthen the organisation and ensure energy security of the country.
