Six more die of corona in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM: Six more corona patients died in Chattogram on Wednesday.

With this, a total of 210 people died from this highly contagious virus in Chattogram so far.

Among the Wednesday’s deceased, five are from the city and one from an upazila.

Besides, 259 more patients tested corona positive at the six existing testing centres in Chattogram on the day.  

 Of them, 176 are from the city and 83 from different upazilas in the district.

 Chattogram district Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said a total of 1,265 samples were tested at the six labs while 259 of them were found positive.

 He informed that the lockdown imposed at Uttar Kattali ward was officially lifted and the ward, which had been marked as a red zone, has been categorised as yellow zone.

Only 21 persons of the ward tested corona positive after testing 255 samples while nine of them recovered from the virus during the lockdown period, he added. 

Mentionable, a total of 11,031 persons were detected as corona positive while 210 of them died and 1,297 recovered in Chattogram district till Thursday.

 Of the patients, 7,678 are from the city and 3,353 from different upazilas in the district.

Mentionable, the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Disease, Chattogram General Hospital, Chattogram Medical College Hospital, Chattogram Field Hospital, Holy Crescent Hospital, Railway Hospital, Maa-Shishu O General Hospital, Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital and some private isolation centres are providing treatment to the corona patients in Chattogram.
