Chinese co to establish leather industry in Ctg EPZ

BEPZA Member (Engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam and Unicorn Leather Goods Factory Managing Director Kang Yanhong exchange documents after signing an agreement at BEPZA Complex in the capital on Wednesday.

BEPZA is the beacon of hope in investment during the Corona pandemic. In this global crisis, China think that Bangladesh's EPZ is a safe and profitable investment destination.

A Chinese company M/s. Unicorn Leather Goods Factory Limited will establish a leather and artificial leather products manufacturing industry in Chattogram Export Processing Zone.

This fully foreign-owned company will invest US$ 1.02 million with employment opportunity for 764 Bangladeshi nationals, said a press release.

 Unicorn Leather Goods Factory will produce annually 1 million bag, belt, wallet and various leather items.

An agreement to this effect signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and M/s. Unicorn Leather Goods Factory Limited at BEPZA Complex in the capital on Wednesday.

Mohammad Faruque Alam, Member (Engineering) of BEPZA and Kang Yanhong, Managing Director of M/s. Unicorn Leather Goods Factory inked the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Among others, Md. Nabirul Islam, Secretary, Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations) and Md. Tanvir Hossain, General Manager (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA were present on the occasion.
