Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) kept its promise of providing financial assistance to the non-contracted players playing in Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2019-20 (DPL) through their respective clubs on Thursday.
Representatives of twelve Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League clubs received BCB’s one-time financial assistance on behalf of 96 non-contracted cricketers at Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) office at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital.Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan had announced on March 28 that BCB were going to help the cricketers who are not part of the BCB’s contract list and are likely to face financial hardship as they may have only received partial payment from their respective Premier League Clubs.
CCDM Member Secretary Ali Hossain confirmed daily sun on Thursday that BCB handed over the cheque to the club authorities.
Ali Hossain said, “The board president announced on March 28 that he would hand out thirty thousand taka to each non-contracted cricketers. So, I handed over the cheques to the authorities of twelve clubs of DPl.”
The DPL matches started on March 15.
BCB had also supported the women cricketers with financial incentive during these tough times.
