CUET student injured in road accident dies

CHATTOGRAM: A Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) student who sustained injuries in a road accident succumbed at a hospital in the city on Monday.

The ill-fated was identified as Tahmid Chowdhury, a student of Computer Engineering department of the university.

Sources said Tahmid and three others sustained injuries in a collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Saturday.

The injured were rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where doctors declared one Foysal Ridwan dead.

The rest three were admitted to different hospitals of the city, they said.

Of them, Tahmid succumbed to his injuries at Intensive Care Unit of a hospital on Monday, said CUET Student Affair Director Mashiul Hoque.

Mentionable, at least 15 students of CU were injured after a bus carrying them fell into a roadside ditch at Hathazari upazila of Chittagong.

The incident took place at Sarkarhat around 9:30am on Thursday.
