A group of students and teachers of Chittagong Independent University (CIU) visited the Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) at Anwara upazila in the district recently.
CIU Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Mahfuzul Hoque Chowdhury led the team while the KEPZ Chairman Kihak Sung welcomed them.The team inspected different activities of production at the EPZ.
The VC Dr Mahfuzul said the university has been working for producing skilled human resources for the country.
He also laid emphasis on working together with the industry and corporate-world for developing the students with the virtues of humanity and skill.
The KEPZ Chairman Kihak Sung said practical knowledge can inspire a student to create anything new.
He also hoped that the CIU and KEPZ will set long-term plans together for socioeconomic development along with the improvement of higher education and research.
Korean EPZ Corporation Bangladesh Limited President Jahangir Sadat, Managing Director Md Shahjahan, Young One Managing Director Sheikh Shahinur Rahman, CIU Institute of Governance, Development and International studies Director Dr Syed Manjur Quader were also present during the visit among others.
