Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and United International University (UIU) have paired up for boosting up industry-academia relation.

DCCI and UIU on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at DCCI office towards developing skilled manpower as per requirement of the industries.

Shams Mahmud, President, DCCI and Professor Dr. Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Vice Chancellor, UIU signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations, said a press release.

During the MoU signing ceremony DCCI President Shams Mahmud said that for the development of research and innovation in the industrial sector, industry-academia collaboration is important.

Under the purview of this MoU, both the parties will work jointly for skill development required for industry.

DCCI president also said that the fourth industrial revolution ushered a new era for technological advancement, so the universities should redesign their curriculum according to the need of the industries.

Due to lack of industry-academia collaboration, graduates sometimes face challenges to get job.
